What’s new:
Garmin Sync and iOS 18 Update
One of our main priorities is to improve the interaction of Bikemap with our users’ favorite gadgets. We’re proud to announce that Garmin integration now works both in app and web, syncing between them.
And all iPhone and Apple Watch users will be excited to find out how we’ve optimized Bikemap for iOS 18 – see what’s new, cool and unexpected listed below. We can’t wait for you to try out all the new features for yourself!
New for Garmin
We now support full integration of the popular Garmin bike computer for both Bikemap app and web. Simply authorize Garmin Connect from your app or web settings, and your rides will sync automatically among all your devices!
New for iPhone
We have added 8 shortcuts (app intents) including the super useful “bike me to” intent. Using it, you can now ask Siri to show you the best bike route to an address, or the next appointment in your calendar, and it will open Bikemap (and perform the search) for you!
Lock screen control center
You can now place the “record cycling” control on the lock screen of your iPhone. This allows you to use the app without opening it. When you’re out recording a ride and need to hit “pause” for example, you can now do so without even unlocking your screen. Neat!
App icon tinting
Want all your icons in your favorite color? The newest iOS update supports app icon tinting for your personalized look.
New for Apple Watch
iOS 18 also brings us a new feature for the Apple Watch: you can now use the double tap gesture to start and pause a recording, keeping your hands free and your eyes on the road while cycling. You will also find our Live Activity: Bike Computer and Navigation on Apple Watch for the first time. ⌚
Have a great day, and don’t forget to get in the saddle and enjoy the ride 💙
